How To Factory Reset Your Android Phone

Many user dont know how to back up your data and reapply factory settings.
With so much information flying around nowadays, it’s easy for your phone or tablet to end up bloated. When the going gets tough, and your device slows down to a crawl, it’s probably time to back up what you want to keep, and chuck the rest out with a factory restore. This will be increase your Android Phone productivity

This will delete everything from your phone, leaving you with a blank canvas to fill up all over again. Of course, a full factory data reset means you’ll lose all of your apps, contacts and settings, but if you follow these easy steps, getting them back will be a cinch.

  1. Back up your data
Go in to your setting menu, and tap through to Privacy. Check the box that says back up my data, and the one that says Automatic restore. Enabling the back up my data option will save a lot of your information to Google’s cloud server and checking Automatic restore will bring those settings and apps back after you’ve factory reset your device.

  1. Sync your accounts
Now, head back to the setting menu, but this time you need to click on account & Sync. From there, tap through to your gmail account and make sure that all of the data syncs are up to date. This will synchronise your contact, email,calendar and a swathe of other google service to the cloud, meaning that any device you sign in to with your google account will have access to them.

  1. The rest of your data
A lot of data that  you have on your phone isn’t linked to your google account. These items-such as your pictures and videos-instead will need to be backed up manually, by connecting your smartphone or tablet device to your PC and then copyng the files over, moving them to your SD card, or using one of the many applications out there that offer cloud storage space, such as Dropbox

  1. Factory reset
Once happy everything you want to keep is safely backed up, it’s time to reset your phone. Head back to the privacy menu, and hit factory data reset. You’ll be given the option to reset the SD card as well, so make sure there’s nothing on there you want to keep if you pick that option.

  1. Reboot and rebuild
Once your phone has wiped it’s memory, it’s time to start filling it up again. Signing in with your google account will take care of a lot of this, but you’ll need to transfer your photos, videos and music back over too. Once that’s complete, you’re done, and hopefully you’ve been left with a device that’s running smoothly again.
